Scotch is gone

Life
My beloved dog, which was adopted by my parents when I went to the army, has passed away yesterday, when I was on my way to the US. She died of cancer at the age of 13.5. It's amazingly sad that those magnificent creatures live so little. This makes you wonder how just one thing is certain in life. Sad, sad entry for the Life category.

From the PHP angle, in a way, Scotch affected a bunch of parts in PHP - since she was the only one I could consult with when I developed certain parts of the language, in the middle of the night many years ago... She was definitely a PHP dog.

May you rest in peace, Scottie!

Sad :-( She was such a cute dog. Looking at his pics for sec was a real tear jerker.

My cat is my PHP consultant. Pets really help with ideas for some reason..i could never figure out why.

Having had dogs all my life (and just gotten a new one), I know the feelings that go along with this - and they suck. I'm sorry for your loss, such a cute little thing too...

My condolences. I know my Grendel will pass some day, and while I can intellectualize it, I know it will be absolutely crushing when it happens.

Zeev, I'm so sorry to hear this. She looks like she was a splendid consultant.

My commiserations on the loss of your dog. My Maddie died in an accident September 7th 2005, aged 8.5. Some 7 weeks later I still often find it incredible. One thing I read that helped me was Chapter I: White Fur, Red Blood of Travels with Samantha by Philip Greenspun at http://www.photo.net/samantha/samantha-I seeing . He loved his dog so much that for the first time I felt that my feelings were not the worst ever.
